MassPay Launches Single-Hop FX Payouts to 180 Countries
MassPay eliminates double currency conversion on cross-border payments, letting businesses pay recipients in local currency without routing through USD.
MassPay, a global financial orchestration platform and Visa Direct partner, announced an expansion of its payout infrastructure that removes the need for intermediary currency conversions when sending money across borders, the company said Wednesday from Las Vegas.
The platform now enables businesses to send payouts directly to recipients in local currency across 180 countries using a single foreign-exchange conversion — a model the company describes as a "single FX hop." The traditional cross-border payment process typically routes funds through the U.S. dollar or another intermediary currency, generating multiple conversion fees that reduce the final amount received by payees.

By collapsing that multi-step process into one conversion, MassPay positions the change as a cost efficiency gain for both the businesses initiating payments and the individuals or vendors receiving them. The company argues that payees retain a larger share of each transaction under the new structure.
The announcement reflects broader competitive pressure in the cross-border payments sector, where fintechs and established networks are racing to reduce friction and fee layers for international disbursements. MassPay's partnership with Visa Direct provides underlying network infrastructure supporting the expanded reach.
