X4 Pharmaceuticals Lands $150M Debt Facility With K2 HealthVentures
X4 Pharmaceuticals secured up to $150M in senior debt financing, retiring its prior loan and extending its commercial runway.
X4 Pharmaceuticals has secured a senior debt facility of up to $150 million with K2 HealthVentures, the company announced, replacing an existing loan arrangement that has already been fully repaid. The new financing is designed to broaden the biotech firm's financial flexibility as it pursues both corporate and commercial objectives.
The deal provides X4 with expanded capital access at a critical stage in its clinical development pipeline. The company said it expects to complete enrollment in its Phase 3 4WARD clinical trial by the end of 2026, with topline data anticipated in the first half of 2028. The 4WARD trial represents a key milestone in X4's longer-term commercial strategy.

By retiring the prior loan concurrently with the new facility's establishment, X4 avoided overlapping debt obligations, a move that strengthens its balance sheet heading into a multi-year clinical readout period. Access to the full $150 million is structured to support the company through that window and beyond.
The transaction signals continued appetite among specialty healthcare lenders such as K2 HealthVentures for late-stage biotech assets with defined clinical timelines. For X4, the arrangement provides a cleaner capital structure and additional runway to manage both operational costs and potential commercial preparations ahead of trial results.
